If you would like the SPCP to help you find a roommate for
the Convention, please write in the notes that you need a roommate and your
check in and check out dates. It is hard to find roommates as the convention
nears. Remember February 22, 2012 is the deadline for the SPCP room rates –
it is better to cancel a reservation if you find a roommate than to be
without a room altogether!
Important
Convention Regulations
No videotaping or flash photography is permitted during lectures.
All cell phones and pagers must be turned off or set to vibrate; text
messaging is not permitted. Computers cannot be on during lectures.
In consideration of our paid vendors, there is to be no sales or
promotion of products or services outside the vendor room. No procedures of
any kind may be conducted anywhere within the hotel before or during the
convention dates.
A name badge is required for admittance to all functions. Loss of your
badge will result in a $10.00 replacement charge. Please help us eliminate
the embarrassment of having to remove non-paying friends or relatives
accompanying you to the lectures. Badges will be checked.

credit hours, the evaluation form needs to be turned in immediately after
each class. If you arrive fifteen minutes late for a lecture or leave before
a lecture is completed, you cannot receive continuing education credits for
that particular lecture. Certificates will be mailed after the convention.

exclusively to our members. Members may purchase items such as colorful
client brochures (NEW design!), the SPCP photo album, our Client Forms pack, and many SPCP identifying products. Various

textbook by Marjorie Grimm – Permanent Cosmetics – The Foundation of
Fundamental Applications.

become SPCP trainer members, this program is also required
regularly for certified trainer members as a review. Attendees
have the opportunity to network with one another and to speak on
particular subjects to enrich the program with new ideas. The
exchange of ideas casts the seeds of new educational concepts
and program development. Attendees of
this class must be CPCP certified or scheduled to take their
certification exam during the conference. Please refer to the SPCP
website for other trainer member requirements or contact the

Legal Matters: How They Affect Our Industry

public are mandated to meet certain standards of care. If those
standards are not met, they may become responsible for any

explore standards of care, expectations on the part of consumers
and legal liability which may accrue should a practitioner fail
to perform at the standard of care to a degree which constitutes
legal negligence. General liability and insurance coverage

Low Cost Branding For Big Results
In a world of million dollar ad budgets and
billion dollar brands, can your small business compete? Lana
Duke says you can and shares her tips on developing your own
unique, highly profitable brand. Speaking straight from her own
personal experience – Lana turned a local steakhouse into the
world’s largest fine-dining brand and now runs four high-volume
Ruth’s Chris restaurants and other successful businesses. She
tells how to set yourself apart from your competition, using
techniques like personal notes and community involvement that
cost little but pay off in big results.
|
| |
Lana Duke
Lana’s story is a classic rags-to-riches tale.
Raised in Canadian foster care, she moved to New Orleans at 18,
selling pots and pans door-to-door to get by. Hard work and
determination landed her in advertising and marketing. As head
of a firm that grew to be the largest woman owned ad agency in
the Gulf South, Lana helped build Ruth’s Chris Steak House into
a sizzling national and international success. Now Lana is the
owner of four Ruth’s Chris restaurants, the Palace Truck Stop &
Casino and a Huddle House. As part of her “give back”
philosophy, Lana actively works with foster children in San
Antonio, New Orleans and Toronto.
