It’s great that we are going “home” to Philly this fall. For the fifth time, we are having our Fall Conference there on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday September 23 at the same hotel which was previously known as the Crown Plaza, but is now under the name Sonesta Hotel Philadelphia. This hotel has always received the highest evaluations for attendees for its warm and inviting staff and great downtown location. If you have never been to Philly before, now is a better time than any! This historic city is a beautiful place with lots to do and see, from the Liberty Bell to shopping galore, there is something for every type of interest.

Registration will be available through the SPCP website and mailed programs shortly. We expect a great turnout for this event as this is always a popular destination. Our attendees always have enjoyed our Fall Conference and the event’s intimate atmosphere. They are by far the best networking opportunities available to the industry. Fall Conference will kick off with the Train the Trainer class given by Jeanine McTasney, CPCP on Thursday and Friday, the 19th and 20th.

Saturday and Sunday’s speaker line-up (September 22-23) is incredible and includes many of our well known industry veterans. Kari Boatner, CPCP, will kick start the event with her lecture, “Lip liner & Lip Shading: Techniques and Tricks of Our Trade.” Val Glover-Hovan, CPCP, will share when and when not to let the client decide if they really do know best when it comes to shaping their eyebrows, in her lecture, “Did I really put my name on those eyebrows?” Presenting the topic, “Corrective Permanent Cosmetics, Understanding your Limits,” Valerie Weber, CPCP, will help you identify the corrective work that is in your skill level, and tips on corrective work, as well as preparing the client for the corrective process. Debra Guastella, CPCP, will share with you how to market your business to the medical community outside of plastic surgery, in her lecture, “A Synergetic Relationship: Permanent Makeup and the Medical Arena.”

In his lecture, “Eyeliner Procedure: Lash Enhancement or Dramatic Wings,” Johnny McCarty, CPCP, will help you enhance your technique as well as build your speed in completing a procedure. April Meese, CPCP, will explore the top components that can affect the results of a permanent cosmetic procedure in her presentation, “Understanding Our Canvas.” Last but not least, Marilyn Jones, CPCP will present “Aging Clients, Aging Technicians: Research, Reality, Remedies,” where Marilyn will provide us with some tips and techniques to help and to keep our aging minds fresh and active.

As with all fall conferences, our bloodborne pathogens/infection control class by David Vidra, LPN will be included in the cost of attendance and is part of the conference.

We are space limited to 100 attendees and we are very likely going to fill this event. Pre-registration is required so register early so as not to be disappointed – thanks to the generosity of those who participated in the SPCP Auction, the attendance fee will remain the same as last year’s rate!
