CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE, the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals is returning to where it all began – The Flamingo Las Vegas.

Members from around the world are registered to learn from our industry veterans and experts as a career and professional investment for education and networking. We come together to Convention 2016, both veterans and novices, all for the same purpose; to learn, to network, to make new friends and rekindle old friendship; and to be with our SPCP Family and celebrate 25 Years of Excellence in Education!

SPCP Convention 2016, as always, will be preceded on Wednesday, April 20th by our two-day Train the Trainer Program taught by Marjorie Grimm, CPCP and Dawn Marrero, CPCP. It is a required class for anyone whose goal is to become an SPCP trainer member.

On Friday morning Laurna Marika, an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer, will present an industry specific Bloodborne Pathogens Course (BBP). A BBP course is required to practice in many states; it is also required for the CPCP exam and recertification and is a great prep class for those taking the CPCP Exam.

The Friday afternoon workshop will be presented by Mary Jane Haake, CPCP on the topic of, Step up Your Income with Insurance Billing. Does your practice includes areola tattooing, repigmenting scars and grafts due to melanoma removal, or eyeliner or eyebrow procedure due to an alopecia diagnosis from a referring physician? If so, then many of those procedures may be covered by insurance reimbursement. Mary Jane will offer a step-by-step guide on how to expand your practice to include electronic billing. This is best for those in the USA.

Saturday is Vendor Appreciation Day. The Vendor Room will be open all day and Vendor Presentations will run throughout the day. We already have several new vendors attending along with long time and committed industry favorites and many are offering convention discounts!

On Saturday evening we present our 25th CELEBRATION & RED CARPET EXTRAVAGANZA networking reception. Johnny McCarty, CPCP, our Master of Ceremonies, along with other talented SPCP members, have an amazing evening filled with exceptional entertainment not to be missed. Although dress attire is optional, this is our night to show off a fancy cocktail dress or gown. A local photographer will once be on hand to capture the evening as we Walk the Red Carpet.

The main event starts Sunday morning! We are honored to bring to our stage for the first time, Dr. Lance Setterfield, one of the world’s foremost educators in dermal needling. Dr. Setterfield brings thirty-two years of medical experience in skin treatment and research. His topic, Microneedling & Scope of Practice, has gained popularity around the world and he is the most sought after speaker in this field. He is the author of Concise Guide to Dermal Needling and will have signed books available for purchase.

Lifetime SPCP and Trainer Member, Penny Rudy, CPCP will bring her illusions of artistry in challenging and sensitive procedures with Success with Male Eyebrows & Alopecia Clients. Penny has helped many alopecia clients and males suffering from hair loss through a metamorphosis, as she likes to say, with her artistry of restoration through permanent cosmetics. Pat Shibley-Gauthier, CPCP is another Lifetime SPCP and Trainer Member, and Board Director. For over twenty-seven years, Pat has been working with pigments as a cosmetic pigment manufacturer, providing the expertise to present The Color Business of Black & White. What do black and white do in the skin? What is the blue-black syndrome? Is white camouflaging an option? Pat will answer questions of black and white together while guiding us about when to say no.

Never before presented at an SPCP event, Mandy Sauler, CPCP, will take us on a journey through an actual patient’s reconstructive surgery phase through the Breast Reconstruction Insider. We will see exclusive video footage from the operating room during tissue expansion and nipple reconstruction. Mandy specializes in areola 3D nipple tattooing, with many doctors and hospitals in the country so we are fortunate to get an insider look. This amazing day of education at its finest, culminates with one of the most popular presentations of Convention, the Panel of Experts. I will moderate this forum and all attendees will have the opportunity to present their questions to the speakers of the day.

Monday morning we will delve into the world of social media with the funny antics and delightful personality of April Meese, CPCP, as we Master Social Media Marketing. April has determined there are five laws of social media marketing and she will show us the strategies needed to improve our business presence with social media outlets. Considered a pioneer in the microblading/microstroking field, Tina Davies will demonstrate through SPCP style video presentation, Microblaing Flow, an unstructured and loose style of microstroking based on free-hand eyebrow design. This art form allows the artist’s concept to flow from the technician’s mind to the canvas of the skin. She will share with us an interactive demonstration on how to practice microstroking, focusing on rhythm, pressure, and stroke technique.

After our Luncheon and Annual Member Meeting, back by massive popular demand, Pat Gauthier, CPCP will be the Moderator for the Round Table Discussion. Each table will be given a scenario or topic to discuss, formulate a solution, and then share. Our afternoon of speakers will conclude with one of our most favorite speakers of all time, Lana Duke. As head of a firm that grew to be the largest woman-owned ad agency in the South, Lana helped build Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse into a sizzling national and international success and now owns five highly successful Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses herself. Lana, and what she brings us, are considered some of the most inspiring parts of the Convention and we will be charmed as she takes us on a journey to Top Shelf Branding.

There is still time to register for this amazing event at the www.spcp.org website!
